Reference: DE-08
Duration: 2 Day(s)

Description

Hierarchical Object Oriented Design (HOOD) was developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) as a design methodology for important projects such as Arianne-5, Columbus and Hermes. HOOD is now a mature methodology of hierarchical decomposition, of the design in the solution domain, based upon the identification of objects and operations in the problem domain.

This course is designed to deliver the skills necessary to be able to read and understand a HOOD design, comprising of diagrams and textual definitions. Focus is placed upon the understanding of the methodology. Delegates will develop the skills necessary to understand how requirements are analysed and a HOOD design is developed. Time will be allocated to ensure delegates gain an understanding of complex real-time and distributed design issues. The course is supported by a number of practical examples to consolidate new skills.

Content

  • The History of HOOD
  • How to read HOOD Diagrams
  • Real-Time Design Notation
  • How to read the Object Description Skeleton
  • Distributed Software Design

Who should attend
